Essential Duties Prepare and review technical submittals, including BIM models, design submittals, and technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with North American and/or European mass timber project standards. Oversee the DfMA approach and guide Mass Timber Design teams, helping them adopt and integrate CAD/CAM fabrication software. Provide mentorship to drafting team members, facilitating skill development and professional growth while optimizing drafting procedures. Drive innovation in design automation, parametric modeling, and digital fabrication for efficiency and speed. Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet deadlines and ensure effective project delivery using VDC/BIM 4D for site logistics. Lead continuous improvement of digital workflows, advising on the selection and implementation of the most effective technologies. Develop and optimize workflows across multiple manufacturing facilities, considering regional differences in requirements. Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet deadlines and ensure effective project delivery using VDC/BIM 4D for site logistics. Responsible for the successful implementation of BIM Level 2, particularly in mass timber design, to ensure efficient digital workflows throughout the project lifecycle. Ensuring alignment between project goals and digital construction strategies across multiple teams and stakeholders. Troubleshooting discrepancies between digital models and physical conditions, ensuring that designs are accurately executed and that project timelines are met. Requirements 5–8 years of experience as a BIM Manager or Drafter, with demonstrated strong background in structural drafting. A degree in Architectural Technology, CAD Technology, Structural Engineering, or a related field, with a solid understanding of structural systems and mass timber design principles. Proven expertise in BIM Level 2 implementation within large-scale construction projects, particularly mass timber design, ensuring seamless integration of digital workflows from design to manufacturing and construction. 7 years experience with key BIM software such as Revit, BIM360, Cadwork, Navisworks, and Rhino, with advanced proficiency in parametric design tools including Dynamo, Grasshopper, and Python, enabling innovative solutions in design automation and digital fabrication. Demonstrated background (2 years) in CNC machining, CAD/CAM software integration, and digital fabrication processes for mass timber, including DfMA principles, ensuring efficient, cost-effective production. 3 years hands-on experience in the creation and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEP). 5 years construction site experience, including on-site coordination of BIM workflows and digital fabrication processes, ensuring the successful integration of site logistics, just-in-time deliveries, and alignment of project goals with field conditions. 5 years experience with field verification and the coordination of on-site installations. 6 years experience with international large-scale projects in the mass timber sector, with a solid understanding of global best practices and the ability to apply them to North American and European markets. Salary & Benefits The salary for this position is $80,000 – $90,000 . Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
