Position Description

Reporting to the Grade Line Supervisor, the Grade Line Operator is responsible for sorting lumber by grade as determined by the MiCROTEC Goldeneye. This Role is crucial to ensuring the consistent and steady flow of quality raw materials into the production process. This position requires mechanical aptitude, keen attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

This position reports to the Mercer Conway, Inc. facility, located at 1800 Sturgis Rd – Conway, AR 72032.

Responsibilities

• Operate SystemTM panels proficiently
• Work collaboratively with the Grade Line team to facilitate steady workflow
• Ensure all work is performed safely, with a clear understanding of lockout procedures, safety switches, and emergency stop buttons
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including machines and workstations
• Perform periodic quality checks to ensure consistency in raw materials
• Coordinate with the Shift Lead Hand to support production flow
• Complete other assigned duties

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Must be able to stand or walk for the duration of the shift and periodically push or pull up to 50 lbs
• Must possess strong attention to detail
