Mercer Timber Products and Mercer Rosenthal donate to local canoe club

On Monday, July 17, 2023, Ronny Arnold, Plant Manager of Mercer Timber Products GmbH in Saalburg-Ebersdorf, handed over new life jackets to the youth of WSV Rosenthal e.V.

“We are very happy about this support. The safety of our young athletes is particularly important to us,” said Manfred Groneberg, Racing Sports Manager, during the handover at the clubhouse near Saaldorf.

At the Bleilochtalsperre, training takes place twice a week. During the summer season, the WSV Rosenthal e.V. also organizes a training camp on its own boathouse grounds. The most important event for the club, however, is the traditional annual Whitsun regatta. Usually, roughly 700 athletes come to measure their strength against each other.

Though this year’s donation was in partnership with Mercer Rosenthal, Mercer Timber Products has already been supporting the club for many years through the donation of money and goods. Previously, the most recent donation included wood, among other things, for the renovation of the sanitary and changing rooms.
