Mercer Peace River and Woodland Cree First Nation Extend Historic Peace River Logging Partnership Agreement

PEACE RIVER, AB, January 21, 2025 – Mercer Peace River Pulp Ltd. (“Mercer Peace River”) and Woodland Cree First Nation (“Woodland Cree”) have signed a historic agreement extending their co-ownership relationship of Peace River Logging.  The renewed partnership is a significant step forward for both parties, which extends their positive working relationship and reinforces their commitment to responsible forestry practices. By working together, Mercer Peace River and Woodland Cree have established one of the most successful logging operations in the region.

Mercer and Woodland Cree have co-owned Peace River Logging since 2004, and this new agreement ensures the long-term sustainability of the joint venture and secures the jobs of more than 80 local people.
